Free poetry day at Waterstones, Cheltenham!

Cheltenham Poetry Festival is delighted to have Waterstones as a festival sponsor for a second year.

The festival is running a series of free readings and performances in the Cheltenham store, starting with Poetry In Store on Saturday 7 April.

The free event, is a taster for Cheltenham Poetry Festival and features performances by acclaimed poets plus a chance to win free tickets for the festival and book tokens!

 Anyone who comes along will have the chance to request the reading of a favourite poem, or will be able to read one of their own – and be broadcast on the new Cheltenham Community Radio!

The poets ( who will read for approx 15 minutes each ) include
Hayley Frances - feisty slam-star!
Will Humphreys - romantic poetry this popular local poet.
Pink Sniper - Elley : biting, incisive political poet delivered with a punch.
Rick Vick and The Stroud Pamphlet Poets - a variety of acclaimed voices.
Helen Calcutt - elegiac, lyrical poetry.
Stephen Lovatt - leader of the Poetry Cafe posse of poets.
Fergus Mcgonagal - hilarious, dramatic stand-up poetry.
Sarah Snell-Pym - our very own scientist and poet!
Michael Newman - haunting, beautiful poetry.

The event runs 10am – 5pm at Waterstones, Cheltenham. Entrance is free.
